Metal signs at Glasgow airport could go up as soon as next month

METALLICA’S METAL sign has been vandalised at Glasgow Airport, with metal signs and posters hanging over the airport gate.METALLICA are playing at Glasgow’s O2 Arena on Sunday for the first time in 12 years.

The band, whose last album was 2010’s Red Hot Chili Peppers, have played two sold-out shows at the airport before, with the last show being at the city’s Terminal 2.

Tickets for Sunday’s show go on sale from 5pm on Friday, February 13.METAL’s fans are likely to have noticed the signs around the airport as they arrived for the show, with a few signs bearing messages like “Ticket Prices £2, £4 and £10”.

The band’s manager, David Holmes, said on Twitter that the band were “surprised to hear the metal signs are up there”.

“It’s not our fault but they are,” he said.

“The sign is a bit ridiculous and has been hanging over our gates for a while now.”

The band will play another show at Glasgow International Airport on February 17.

Tickets go on general sale on Friday.
